Beta #2 and Blog Guilt
Ok, I’m so ashamed of my blog-etiquette lately! I have literally not read anyone else’s blog in WEEKS! My Google Reader had like 3000+ and I had to say “mark all as read.” Plus, I haven’t been commenting or even returning comments. I had my first beta on Wednesday and it was 503 which is excellent! (they want over 100). I’m definitely feeling pregnant. My boobs are VERY sore and it hurts a little when Aellyn latches on (but on a side note: YEAH! for nursing through FET!!!). I have tiny pimples all over my face. I’m constipated. I’m nauseous. My beta today was 5,434. Yes, five THOUSAND four-hundred and thirty four. Woohoo! Since I’m not really sick or anything it is hard to “feel” pregnant so this verification that all is well was much needed. Our first ultrasound is scheduled for next Tuesday! I can’t wait to see a heart beat. Here is how my beta increased compared to others. You can see I’m on the high side for singleton (one baby) but HCG values can never diagnose multiples so we just have to wait it out. My beta was 512! 512. 512. 512. I can’t believe it. We are so blessed! I don’t know what else to say now…more later. …later. Sorry for the brief post. I was literally so happy I couldn’t speak. Beta tests measure HCG in your blood (whereas HPT’s measure it in your urine). The numbers are very variable but we were hoping for something around 100 at 15dp3dt (15 days past 3 day transfer). 150 Would have been wonderful. Symptoms so far: sore breasts light, intermittent cramping frequent urination (esp. at night) pimples! (wonderful =/ ) constant heartburn nausea (see below) EXHAUSTED! More than I knew was possible. HUNGRY! I can’t go more than 3 hours without eating something or I feel faint. So Friday when I first felt nausea I wondered if it was psychosomatic (i.e. I was wanting to feel it).
