PIO:  Progesterone in Oil.  Fondly referred to as that HUGE frickin’ needle DH has to stab me in the butt with every night.  And I’m not kidding about huge – here is a picture and yes, that is a quarter not a dime.

PIO is exactly what it sounds like.  It is the hormone progesterone, which supports early pregnancy, suspended in sesame or peanut oil.  Now imagine for a moment injecting something as viscous as oil into a muscle.  Yeah.  Ouch.  The oil likes to bunch up and create a lump in the muscle that hurts like the dickens!  And since we do this every evening my butt is lumpy, bruised, and sore!  But progesterone keeps my babies growing until they can produce it themselves with the placenta around week 8.

I saw a commercial for a great website yesterday.  And, even though the timing is a little off, I figure since the website found me instead of me finding it that it is ok to blog about.  It is called Grandparents.com and it is social networking site for all things Grandma and Grandpa.  It has blogs to brag about your grandkids, articles on the ins-and-outs of grandparenting, lists of fun things to do with your grandkids by city, and much more.  It really looks like a great place for the web-savvy nanas, pappies, memeres, and peperes out there.  So, mom and dad, you may want to hold off for a while – but hopefully you will be poking around this site soon.

Today is 5dp3dt, I got a negative HPT so the HCG trigger is out of my system.  Come on 2 lines!
